Girls Only Competition
Here at Waves Basketball, we are passionate about the future of Girls basketball! The Girls Only League has been a huge success with numbers steadily growing through 2021!
This means that our Girls Only League will be a fully fledged 2 term competition for 2022!
Here at the Central Coast Waves our motto is 2022 = YEAR FOR YOU!
The Waves family are committed and driven to expand on our female participation & growth at our club and this continues with our "GIRLS ONLY LEAGUE"!!
Here's how it will work:
Instead of trying to find a team, then complete a Team nomination form, all you need to do is complete this registration form & you are AUTOMATICALLY placed into our draft!!
From here, coaches will select on a 'player by player' (one at a time) structure. Teams will be an even balance of both age and talent. This will be a mixed age competition (From U12's through to U18's) & will run for a full season, starting from Wednesday 23rd February 2022 - Wednesday 29th June 2022.
The competition runs from Wednesday 23rd February - Wednesday 29th June with 15 regular rounds and 2 weeks of finals.
Regular round dates:
Wednesday 23rd February- Wednesday 22nd June
no rounds on Wednesday 13th & Wednesday 20th April due to school holidays
Finals rounds:
Semi- Wednesday 22nd June
Grand final- Wednesday 29th June
From the new girls wishing to give basketball a go for the first time right through to experienced Representative players, our focus and commitment to you is to:
* Provide a fair and equal playing field week in and week out. This in turn allows closely contested matches every week.
* Encourage girls to register that have never played before and be assisted by the club to find a team & feel welcome right from the start.
* Strengthen our current group of Representative players as they will now take the court against their team mates instead of side by side, bringing out the best in their individual performance.
* To grow our girls Basketball program throughout the 2022 season.
* New friendships & connections are formed, as our Waves Village grows!
Did we mention that all your team's uniform singlets & a Coach for your team, are both supplied by the Waves?? HOW COOL IS THAT?!?
All you need to bring with you is a pair of black player shorts (with no zippers or pockets), your basketball shoes (runners are ok too!) and your drink bottle!
We understand that there are some of us that would like to play with our friends on the same team but sometimes it's just as fun competing against them too...
Our girls competition is open to:
Under 12s through to Under 18s girls.
Please note:
- Your daughter will need to have current Basketball NSW registration in order to participate. This is an annual fee & is payable on top of the game fees. Cost of Annual Registration is dependent on your daughter's age.
What are the costs?
- Team Nomination fee is $70 & this will be issued as an invoice to your Coach prior to the season starting. Everyone will need to equally share the cost of this.
- Individual Player fee of $260 for the entire competition
If you are registering to play for the first time, you will need to pay your Annual Registration during this process. The fee for this is $102 (or $40 if your daughter holds a primary registration at another association)
